I want to start off by saying that my sales person (Santiago) was absolutely AMAZING and incredibly helpful and personable and took great care of me during the entire car-buying process, from picking out a selection of cars for me to look at according to the specifications I gave him, testing them, going over pros and cons, and not being the least bit pushy. If this review was just for him I’d rate him 5 stars, and he is the only reason that I am not giving this place less than 4 stars. His team lead/manager, Raul, on the other hand was an absolute snake and made me feel a lot of pressure and discomfort and I very nearly walked out of their and went to another dealership that was offering me an amazing price on a genuinely better vehicle (the only reason I was at Shottenkirk to get the cheaper, older vehicle was because it would fit my budget better and was still a car that I was very happy with). Raul even tried at one point to claim that the higher OTD price they presented me with when I went in to buy my vehicle was the OTD estimate that he had told me the day before, which was a lie as when we’d come in and looked at the vehicle the previous night he’d told us a lower OTD estimate. Raul’s own manager that night had even told us a lower OTD estimate that he’d implied he was confident they could meet, so to suddenly have a higher number thrown at me when the lower price was the only reason I was considering this vehicle over the one at the other dealership really pissed me off. They did eventually bring the OTD price back down to lower rate, though it was without the Gold Certification (which would have been nice to have of course, but is something I can live without). I probably won’t return to Shottenkirk for service for the vehicle either, unless doing so somehow reflects positively on Santiago since he was the only positive part of my experience there and I am grateful to him for his help making the process as smooth as he was able to.
